I offer emotional support and practical help in living a life with Diabetes. We have doctors, websites, nutritionists, books, and a slew of information at our fingertips. What do you do if you have all the information in the world, but no idea where to start? What if you’re overwhelmed with a new diagnosis or complication, you’re the parent of a diabetic child, or you’ve been at this so long that you’re burned-out? What if you just feel alone in a pile of pills, test strips and data and would love to talk to someone who understands?
That’s why I’m here. Supporting you is what I do.
At Delphi Diabetes Coaching, I offer you a supportive environment to help you relax, accept and make progress in your Diabetes care. I don’t give medical advice: this is the emotional support, open hands and attentive ears that are vital for successfully integrating diabetes into your life- not the other way around!
You’ve come to the right place if you’ve been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes and you’re:
- Completely given up
While I’m sorry it took a diagnosis of a chronic illness in order for us to meet, I’m glad you’re here now. I specialize in the newly diagnosed (whether Parent or Patient) and those who are completely frustrated with their care. And diabetes panic attacks and burnout are my personal favorites.
I want you to know that whether you just received your diagnosis and you’ve been give needles, pills, a glucometer and a slew of new information and you don’t know where to go, it will be ok. If you’ve been at this for almost as long as you’ve been on earth and you’re just sick of it, it’s alright too. If you’re transitioning from pediatric care to adult, sedentary lifestyle to an active one, or you just don’t know what to do, I’m here to help.
Self Management Hand Holding
There is no other disease that requires such an intense amount of self maintenance. We are given 8 minute doctor appointments but told to go home and manage this ourselves. I think this is unrealistic and insane, so I am here to help you understand everything you’ve been told and know what steps to take next.
I understand the emotional toll this disease takes as well. As important as blood sugar management is, if we don’t acknowledge our anger at being handed something we didn’t ask for, our dread as our numbers creep up, and our sorrow for the loss of the life we thought we were to live, all the technology in the world won’t help us.
Coaching for Diabetics by a Diabetic
I’m a professional coach, trained in an International Coaching Federation accredited program. I am a life long learner when it comes to coaching, diabetes, technology and life itself. I am not a perfect diabetic, and I don’t expect you to be either. I do not give medical advice; that is the last thing any of us need. I’m here to help you collect all the information you’ve receive through Doctors, Nutritionists, CDE’s and websites and help you figure out where to start.
